EasyVista Rated In The 2014 Gartner Critical Capabilities for Configuration Management Database Tools

New York, July 1st, 2014 - EasyVista Inc. (www.easyvista.com), a global leader in IT Service and Asset Management solutions, announces that research and advisory firm, Gartner, Inc., has rated its ITSM CMDB in its June 2014 Critical Capabilities Assessment. EasyVista was one of a few specialist mid-market ITSM vendors invited to appear in the Assessment.

This Gartner assessment evaluates the CMDB capabilities specific to building and maintaining an accurate and current view of applications and services through manual modeling or auto discovery.

As many organizations look to deliver New IT services to end-users and customers, populating a CMDB remains a steadfast cornerstone to ensuring IT retains control of the estate. Managing the data associated with every configuration item and asset in order to design and fulfil an ever-evolving range of services will support the transition from traditional IT to New IT. If the Service Catalog is central to how IT merchandises itself to the business, then the CMDB orchestrates the peer-to-peer relationships of devices, applications and users to ensure that services (and core processes) are seamlessly delivered. In this respect, Gartner found that a key feature of the EasyVista CMDB is the reporting capability that allows IT organizations to baseline services at various points of time in order to analyze deltas from a desired operational state. In addition, it should be noted that EasyVista can manage the entire lifecycle of an IT asset in order to maximize the asset’s value and ensure alignment with the organization’s strategic and operational objectives.

According to Gartner, “Infrastructure environments are becoming increasingly complex, stretching to encompass physical and virtual resources inside and outside the IT organization. To stay in control of this shifting environment, infrastructure and operations (I&O) managers must create and maintain a complete and accurate picture of configurations across the various elements that comprise IT services. Configuration management databases (CMDBs) that are properly scoped and implemented can make I&O organizations more effective at assessing the risk of proposed changes to the infrastructure environment.”

The assessment was completed against EasyVista 2013, a release which has since been upgraded with the new and improved version of EasyVista, ev|ServiceManager. EasyVista solutions can be deployed on-premise or SaaS. Mobile devices can use an HTML 5 touch aware interface and tablet devices can directly access the desktop version.
